Marshfield Clinic Offers Session April 14 in Marshfield
EXPLORE – Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) is holding a free community wellness event Saturday, April 14, in Marshfield that focuses on discussing medical care in the future with those we love and care for while finding balance and maintaining a healthy lifestyle today.
The “Everyday Wellness: Empowering You” event is an opportunity to learn more and get motivated to make positive changes in your life.
It will be held 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Marshfield Clinic’s Laird Center for Medical Research, 1000 N. Oak Ave. Use parking lots L and B.
8:30-9 a.m. – Check-in
9-9:15 a.m. Welcome
9:15-10:15 a.m. – “Caring Conversations: Let’s Talk About Advance Care Planning,”
Penney Dupee, MCHS advance care planning coordinator.
10:30-11:15 a.m. – Breakout session I
- “Mindfulness & You: An Introduction to the Benefits of Mindfulness,” Jacob Diestelmann, Ph.D., and Angela Lane, Ph.D., MCHS psychology fellows.
- “Moving the needle: 5 steps to achieving your wellness goals,” Amber Corcoran, MCHS health educator.
- “Adaptive Exercises: Changing the Way you Move,” Cathy Scholl Zygarlicke, certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor, yoga and self-defense kickboxing instructor, YMCA.
11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Breakout session II (repeat)
12:15-1 p.m. – Lunch
1-2 p.m. – “Self-Care for Caregivers,” Kris Tarter, MCHS oncology social worker.
2-2:15 p.m. – Conclusion
