Get into the spirit of fall and show off your skills at the Maple Dessert Contest at Maple Fall Fest, which takes place September 15-16.
Dig out an old family recipe or make something new, just as long as there’s a maple product used in the recipe. Desserts are judged by appearance, taste, creativity and overall impression. Judging will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. There’s no charge to enter, and multiple entries per family are allowed, but only one per cook.
Recipes should be from scratch with no mixes or prepared foods. Feel free to enter muffins, cookies, pies, cheesecakes, or whatever inspires the taste buds.
Register for the contest by submitting your recipe by September 12. Recipes become property of the Marshfield CVB and may be published. Bring a cooler if the dessert needs to be refrigerated, and deliver entries uncut by noon on Saturday at the Maple Village Booth.
First place place wins $200, second place $100, and third place $50. Mail the recipe to Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau at 700 S. Central Ave. Marshfield, WI 54449 or email to [email protected]
Another option is the Maple Syrup Contest – deliver your entry to the Maple Village Booth by noon on Saturday for judging at 3:30 p.m. Only one entry per producer/family. There is no charge to enter. First place prize wins $250, second place $150, and third place $75.
Maple Fall Fest takes place every fall at Wildwood Park and features around 150 craft and food vendors.
