New Magic Show at Dairyfest Features Wisconsin Native
Now you see it, now you don’t! Magician Glen Gerard will be back in Marshfield to entertain all ages on Saturday, June 3rd at Dairyfest. The family friendly show will be at 1:00 pm under the Big Tent at the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds.
With mesmerizing illusions coming at a fast pace, Gerard will leave you guessing and entertained all at the same time. No stranger to the area, Gerard is looking forward to being back in Marshfield. “We always enjoy performing in Marshfield, and love the World’s Largest Round Barn! We actually have a nice “fan base” in Marshfield, as we have performed there many times.”
The show will include favorites such as the Linking Rings and newer material like the Zig Zag Lady. Audience participation is encouraged and adds to the fun. According to his website, Gerard “Integrates comedy, sleight of hand, and outrageous audience participation.”
Gerard has been a fan of and involved in magic since a young age. It’s a realm that never gets outdated and continues to draw a crowd.
“Magic is fascinating to both young and old, and makes people feel like a kid again. It’s what’s known as the ‘suspension of disbelief’; it’s fun to put away logic and reason for just a moment for the sake of entertainment and enjoyment,” he said.
As a full time entertainer for more than 25 years, Gerard has performed in Las Vegas and Branson, for the Milwaukee Bucks, Brewers, and Green Bay Packers and on several cruise ships.
After growing up in Appleton and Milwaukee, he has kept Wisconsin as his home while traveling and performing. Citing Houdini as inspiration, the performance bug has been in his system for years.
“When I was 11 years old or so, I came across a paperback book at my public library about Houdini. I also then saw the old, vintage Tony Curtis movie about Houdini on TV. I became fascinated with Houdini, especially because he had strong ties to Wisconsin. Magic became my hobby, and later, my profession,” Gerard said.
He added, “Our show is clean, family fun! We perform for ages “two through toothless!” Everyone will enjoy a great performance, and it will be our pleasure to entertain you.”
