Local RE/MAX American Dream Helps Children’s Miracle Network
Buying or selling a home can result in a donation to a local child in need, thanks to RE/MAX American Dream, LLC. Each time a property is sold or bought, the RE/MAX agent involved in the transaction gives a donation from the sale to Children’s Miracle Network.
To qualify as a “miracle office,” all agents must have pledged to make a donation from each of their closings to CMN. A miracle office since opening in January 2004, Marshfield’s location is proud to be a part of the Miracle Home Program.
“This is a nationwide partnership,” said broker/owner Sharon Helwig. “This is a great program because we have one of the four children’s hospitals in WI right here in Marshfield and the money we donate stays right here to help kids and their families who are in need right here in the Marshfield area.”
Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) has helped children by actively supporting improved health care for millions of young people around the world. With the mission to generate funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals, it now numbers more than 170 nationwide.
Since partnering with CMNH in 1992, RE/MAX agents have raised more than $150 million for member hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada. With Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital located right here in Marshfield, Helwig said the decision to participate in the program was easy.
“It’s always important and an easy decision to give back to our community and share any success with those who help to make us successful,” she said. “Many times, monies go to families we all may know that are in need and especially for kids-they don’t understand being sick or hurt in an accident in the first place, so the Child Life Specialists make their hospital stays a little bit more tolerable through the resources they receive from Children’s Miracle Network.”
A local fundraiser for CMN is typically held in April, but individual donations can be made at any time of the year.
“The need is always there,” said Helwig. “Seeing the faces of the ‘miracle kids’ and hearing their stories touches the heart & soul of anybody who has been blessed with healthy kids. Knowing you make it just a little easier for those families makes a donation an easy choice.”
