Learn Ballroom Dance Through Continuing Education

Courses Teach Variety of Ballroom Dances

Dancing well isn’t limited to reality shows.

Learn ballroom dancing through Continuing Education at UW-Marshfield/Wood County from March 5 to April 2. Just bring a pair of clean shoes and get guided through the steps. Both single dancers and doubles are welcome.

Level 1 meets from 5:50-6:40 p.m. and is designed for the beginner. Learn timing and how to lead or follow in the patterns of Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, and Rumba.

Level 2 meets immediately after and is for the student who has completed at least one Level 1 course. Continue to develop the skills learned in the previous course while dancing the Salsa and Cha Cha.

Level 3 meets from 7:40- 8:30 p.m. for students who have participated in three level 2 courses. Delve into techniques for each dance and even more patterns to spice up the dances of Cha Cha and another chosen by the class.

Students will have a chance to demonstrate their new skills at an open lesson and dance in the UW Commons on Friday, March 23 from 7-9:30 p.m. All courses are taught by Eau Claire instructors Dave and Karen Goggin, who have 45 years of combined experience in teaching dance professionally.

The cost is $59 per person, and online registration can be found here.
