Help Local Families This Holiday Season

Toy room at SVDP Outreach

St. Vincent De Paul Outreach Helps Community

Christmas is just a few days away, but there is still time to make a difference in the lives of local families this holiday season.

Open five days a week, St. Vincent De Paul (SVDP) Outreach has served the community since 1993. Along with the society of St. Vincent De Paul (which has been in the city since 1923) and the SVDP Thrift Store (present since 1981), the Outreach fulfills a much-needed service in the area.

“Some of the services offered are a food pantry, free medical clinic, vouchers for clothing and household items,” said Debra Steltenpohl, Director of Outreach Services.

During the holidays, special services include offerings of holiday food baskets, hats, gloves, and scarfs, along with a special toy room.

The toy room, open through December 22, provides parents an opportunity to select gifts for their children if they are unable to afford to buy their own.

Those interested in supporting the efforts of SVDP can help by sending monetary donations to SVDP Outreach, 149 N. Central Ave., Marshfield. Christmas donations can be dropped off during regular hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:30pm.

“We would like to remind everyone that by donating items to our thrift store they are helping us out here in the Outreach,” said Steltenpohl. “The sales from the donated items are used to fund our programs here in the Outreach.”

Anyone in need can call SVDP Outreach at 715-387-0395 or stop in during regular hours.
