Hannah Center Fundraiser Helps ‘Rebuild Lives’ of Women in Crisis

The Hannah Center, a home for women in crisis, was established in 1993.

Fundraiser Will Help Center With Annual Operations and Structural Issues.

Join the Hannah Center for their largest fundraiser, Giving for Life banquet and auction on Thurs. Oct. 5 at 5:30 at the RiverEdge Golf Course. The theme this year is “Rebuilding Lives,” a reference to popular TV shows on home remodel and repair, and also the center’s mission.

“The Hannah Center is in the business of rebuilding lives and each woman that we serve,” said Tricia Fancher, Program Coordinator. Using compassion and guidance, the nonprofit guides women through life crisis and provides a home, and also functions as a clearinghouse for infant clothing and furniture in the area.

The center building, over 100 years old, is also facing structural issues. “One of our basement walls has been damaged by water,” said Fancher. “That needs to be replaced and the concrete needs to be redone.” Overall, the project is estimated to take $20,000 to repair.

There will be a silent auction before the dinner, with local musician joe.g performing live. New this year is the live auction, the contents of which will be a surprise. Afterwards, author and humanitarian Mary Dahlke will be the guest speaker along with presentations by past Hannah Center residents.
