Haas Tree Care Arborist to Share Tips and Tricks

Learn Proper Tree Care From Certified Local Arborist

Hello, I’m Luke Haas, owner of Haas Tree Care, LLC and ISA Certified Arborist®. We provide full service tree care to Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Wausau and the surrounding communities, and offer free estimates and timely service.

Over the next several months, I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks to proper tree care, as well as showcasing some videos.

I started Haas Tree Care, LLC about a year and a half ago. I attended Auburndale High School and immediately upon graduation decided to attend Mid-State Technical College to pursue a degree in Urban Forestry. The program is second to none. We had the privilege of being outside gaining hands on experience nearly everyday with industry professionals. While at school, I was active in our Student Society of Arboriculture and had the unique opportunity to attend different tree care expos across the country. Through these experiences, I was able to accelerate my knowledge of trees.

Upon graduation, I moved to Holmen, WI to work for Johnson Operating Services, but found that moving away was not for me. Twelve short weeks after making the move, I was back home laying the foundation for Haas Tree Care, LLC. After several weeks of meetings and ensuring my insurance was in place, we completed the first job on September 7, 2016.

Since the company’s founding, we’ve worked for and met some really incredible people! Two of the most notable jobs were the Village of Vesper and City of Wisconsin Rapids. The Vesper job consisted of five large removals, while the City of Wisconsin Rapids job was filled with nearly a hundred Emerald Ash Borer treatments. See our website or facebook page for more information regarding Emerald Ash Borer and what you can do to combat it.

As for this video, I decided to show a typical day for us. This particular Friday we had two separate jobs with multiple removals. When possible, we will simply drop the entire tree, but occasionally it is necessary to piece the tree out using ropes and pulleys or sometimes a crane. In this instance, you’ll see us utilize a few different methods.
