Get Decorating Inspiration During the Altrusa Holiday Home Tour

With snowflakes in the air and toys lining the aisles of stores, the Christmas spirit will soon be upon us. For the 8th year in a row, Altrusa adds to the season by presenting their Holiday Home Tour. Four Marshfield families will open their homes so all can share in the wonders of holiday decorative traditions.

Co-chair of the event, Darlene Krake said that the homes are beautiful and unique. “With our Holiday Home Tour, we hope to enhance the enjoyment of a winter weekend in Marshfield with Friday night and Saturday enjoying our home tour, the Rotary Winter Wonderland and Upham Mansion’s open house on Sunday. We have been told by many people how much they look forward to seeing the homes for new ideas, a fun time spent with family and friends.”

The host families hint at what can be seen in their homes but seeing them in person is what makes the experience memorable.

Travis and Melissa Cooper, 1024 Colonial Street have two Christmas Trees, one of which is decorated with Old World Christmas ornaments. Holiday figurines by Wisconsin artist, Tina Flanner are on display. For the animal lover, penguins, polar bears and hedgehogs are also featured in the home.

Paul and Mary Tishim, 1008 W 4th Street enjoy decorating five Christmas Trees in their one story home. A Waterford Crystal tree is included as is a glass blown ornament tree.

Rob and Maci Altmann, M241 Coachlight Avenue feature a 10 foot Christmas Tree with Signature Homestyles Decor. Dark maple doors and trim compliment the trimmings.

Pat and Kristen Niehaus, S624 Tanner Drive make the most of their cathedral ceilings. They also enjoy Signature Homestyles in their newly built ranch home.

“Altrusa Club of Marshfield hopes to see many people come and enjoy these beautiful homes with their family and friends and know they contribute to very good causes in their communities.” Krake said.

Organizations benefiting from the Holiday Home Tour include Give A Kid A Book and Make A Difference Day. The Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library receives close to one half of the sales in support of programs in they offer. Special needs scholarships are also awarded with proceeds.

Added Krake, “This is our eighth annual tour and is our major fundraiser for the year that helps fund the several thousand dollars needed to support our many service projects. For example if your third grade child or grandchild in our surrounding communities received a book, it came from Altrusa Club of Marshfield.”

Tour dates are Friday, November 30th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 1st from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Advanced tickets can be purchased for $10 at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library and at the MACCI office. Tickets purchased at the door will be $15.
