Get Active with These Parks & Rec Classes

The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department is offering the following classes:

Youth tennis lessons for ages 4 to 14 will begin March 12th for Tuesday classes and March 7th for Thursday classes. Each session is held for six weeks at the indoor tennis court in the former City Hall Plaza. The cost is $29.00 for city residents and $43.50 for non-residents.

· Open Swim & Gym at the Sr. High Pool and Fieldhouse is held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The pool is open from 5:45–8:00 p.m. and the Fieldhouse from 7:15–9:00 p.m. Open gym will end on February 27th and open swim will end on March 20th. Youth 9 & younger must be accompanied by an adult. Youth under the age of 18 are FREE and adults are $2.50 for city residents, $3.75 for non-residents.

· Pickleball is held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Oak Ave. Community Center, 201 S. Oak Ave. Advanced tickets at a discounted rate can be purchased in the Parks & Recreation office for $22.00 (10 tickets). The drop-in rate is $2.50.

· Exercise classes are held at the 2nd Street Community Center on Tuesday & Thursday mornings. Arthritis Exercise class is held from 9:00–10:00 a.m. and Tai Chi from 10:15 – 11:15 am. The fee is $3.00 per class, or a flex card can be purchased for $42.00 for 16 classes or $24.00 for 8 classes. These classes will focus on improving joint mobility, muscle strength and endurance.

· Early Bird Lap Swim is held at Marshfield Senior High Pool on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:30 a.m. through March 21st. Admission is $1.25 for city residents and $1.75 for non-residents, or purchase advanced discount tickets in the Parks & Recreation office. Tickets are sold in packs of 10.

· Morning Aquacise is held at the Marshfield Senior High Pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30–7:30 a.m. Class runs February 19th to March 21st. The cost is $25.00 for city residents and $37.50 for non-residents.
