Fill Shifts for Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian non-profit organization that has a mission to feed hungry children around the world. Formed in 1987, FMSC and thousands of volunteers have put together nutritious meals for children in need.

Marshfield has been a proud supporter of FMSC since 2010. This year, the culmination of the event will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church on April 11 – 13, 2019.

Helpers over the age of 5 will be accepted with proper adult supervision. Families, school groups and those with disabilities are welcome to join in. All help is welcome with duties to fit physical capabilities. This is an opportunity to see how hunger affects the world, pray for those that are in need, and volunteer time for a worthy cause.

Last year, Marshfield Mobilpack packed enough to feed 745 children every day for a year.

The 2019 goal is $59,875. Each meal costs less than a quarter and 90% of donations go directly to feeding children. Food packets contain rice, soy protein, dehydrated vegetables, vitamins and minerals, scientifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of those who are starving.

Volunteers blend these ingredients together into bags which are then sealed and then shipped to the neediest children around the world. Serving dates in two-hour sessions are Thursday from 4-8:30 p.m., Friday from 9-8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9-1 p.m. on April 11-13.

Volunteer online registration is open at www.fmsc.org/get-involved. Make an online donation to www.give.fmsc.org.
