Festival Foods Blended Burger a Healthier Choice

Festival Foods is offering a healthier Blended Burger option using an ingredient that’s become a hot topic in the foodie world.

The burgers are 75% beef and 25% mushrooms, an ingredient that’s low calorie, cholesterol free, and gentle on the planet. This means each burger has 20% fewer calories and sodium, and 21% less fat, than a traditional burger. It also adds potassium, vitamin D, B, and other important nutrients.

“This is really a great option for guest who may pass on a beef burger due to the fat, sodium or calorie content,” Cindy L. Schmidt, Senior Specialist Fresh Foods.

Dislike mushrooms? No problem – you’ll never know they’re in the burger.

“The burger will actually seem juicer and more flavorful. I made batches of chili, spaghetti sauce and sloppy joe with regular burger and then the blended burger, and everyone that sampled chose the blended burger for a better taste and eating experience,” said Schmidt. “I just love it for cooking most anything I have used ground beef for in any recipe.”

The product comes in premade patties (cooked and uncooked), 87% lean ground beef (for chili or taco meat), and ⅓ lb burgers made with 87% lean ground beef.

Food safety remains extremely important for the company, and all equipment is cleaned and sanitized before use with other products for those with mushroom sensitivities.

Festival Foods is open 24/7 at 1613 N Central Ave. in Marshfield.
