Soup or Socks Fundraiser Seeks Raffle Donations, Volunteers
Soup Or Socks’ Empty Bowls fundraiser is approaching and volunteers and donations are needed to help make this year’s event another success.
“To maintain Soup Or Socks (SOS) for one year costs over $90,000, so we would love to break records this year and help SOS even more,” said Cheryl Hartl, SOS coordinator. “We have a set a goal this year of $20,000.”
Hartl encourages everyone to attend and try great soups from local restaurants. Back by popular demand will be the Flight of Soup, where guests can choose one (12 oz) serving for $10 or three (4oz) options trying three different soups. For just $15.00, participants can have both the regular soup and the flight and one keepsake bowl of their choice.
Soup or Socks seeks financial sponsors for the event, along with donations of raffle prizes.
“Raffle prizes can be donated by individuals or groups,” said Hartl. “Be creative and we encourage donors to shop local.”
All donations need to be received by Feb 24th to be included in 2017 brochures. Raffle donations can be brought to Soup or Socks or Hotel Marshfield. Financial contributions should be made out to Soup or Socks and mailed to PO Box 146, Marshfield WI.
Volunteers are also needed to make the event a success. “Volunteers are needed in many areas,” said Hartl. “Some shifts are split and some volunteers will stay for the entire event.”
Hartl is also seeking yards to host signs from March 5-11.
Empty Bowls 2017 will take place on March 11 at Hotel Marshfield from 11:00am – 2:00pm.
