DQ Fundraiser Benefits Local Children
Eat dessert first for a good cause.
On Thursday, July 27, Dairy Queen will host its thirteenth annual Miracle Treat Day as a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. On that day, buy a regular-priced blizzard of any size and one dollar will be donated to the charity to benefit CMN kids, including those at Marshfield Medical Center.
“100% of funds stay local and help fund life-saving equipment, Child Life services, and provide direct assistance to families throughout northern and central Wisconsin,” said Amanda Vandehey, program manager of CMN hospitals at the Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation.
Marshfield Dairy Queen raised $3227 last year, according to manager Laura Cooper. This year, individuals and businesses can purchase Blizzard vouchers on Thursday in lieu of purchasing the ice cream itself. The vouchers are good for one year and benefit the cause.
Miracle Treat Day has raised funds for local hospitals for over ten years. Last year in 2016, Dairy Queen raised over $4 million for hospitals across the United States and Canada, donations which help the 32 million patients who visit CMN hospitals. One in ten children in North America are treated in 170 CMN hospitals each year.
The donations fund critical treatments, pediatric medical equipment, healthcare services and charitable care. Over $125 million has been raised by Dairy Queen since 1984 in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network.
