Downtown Wine Walk

We have all heard someone in town say….or uttered to ourselves… “there is nothing to do Marshfield.”

While we have all (probably) said it…I am recently realizing how untrue it is! Just check out how much is going on our event calendar here and that is just a portion of the many local events. There are especially a lot of walks and paint parties.

One unique event that is coming up, which I think will be perfect for local Moms, is the Downtown Wine Walk on Saturday May 7 (Mother’s Day Weekend). What could be better than Wine + Cheese + great shopping discounts?

I also love that it is a great partnership between MACCI Leadership Marshfield, Mainstreet Marshfield, and Marshfield Area United Way and is sponsored by local Nasonville Dairy. They are also supplying the yummy cheese!

The Downtown Wine Walk is a MACCI Leadership Marshfield-Class of 2016 project of Jennifer Fredrick, Joe Gustafson, Allison Machtan, Shawn Ronan, and Gwen Schnitzler.

This is how it works: the event is hosted from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants stop by the Marshfield Area United Way office between 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and pick up a map with the exclusive shopping promotions, wine sampling glass and wristband (Wine Walk participants only). It is a self-guided activity and you must be 21 to participate in the wine and cheese tasting portion of the event. Identification will be checked on the day of the event before you receive your wine sampling glass and wristband. There are over twenty exclusive store promotions and eleven wine and cheese tasting locations.

Tickets for the Downtown Wine Walk are available online at http://www.marshfieldareaunitedway.org/WineWalk.html or at the Marshfield Area United Way office, 156 South Central Avenue, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets to participate in wine and cheese tasting with exclusive shopping promotions are $20. Tickets for exclusive shopping promotions only can be purchased for $15.  Tickets can be purchased before the event or the day of the event.

The event will benefit the Marshfield Area United Way and according to their Executive Director Paula Jero, the organization will use the proceeds to assist programs such as Make A Difference Day lawn raking for seniors, the Book Swap, and Backpack and School Supply Drive for kids.

So not only is there a great upcoming event in Marshfield. It represents awesome local collaboration, supports local small business, and benefits the community through the United Way….and there is Wine!
