Throwback Retail Event Returns to Downtown Sidewalks
The Hub City Days Car Show will fill the street with retro cars, but a throwback of another kind will come to the sidewalks this Saturday when Mad Market Days returns.
During its heyday in the ‘70s, downtown businesses offered steep deals on all kinds of products that were set out in front of their stores.
“Everyone that I’ve spoken to who is now an adult remembers this time of running around on their bikes, trying to find good deals as kids. They remember it as a really fun time,” said Kaelie Gomez, Executive Director of Main Street Marshfield. “People would be told by their folks to take a five dollar bill, go down, and get clothes for the school year.”
With the same premise as before, Mad Market Days will provide great deals offered by local businesses.
“There’s a lot of businesses downtown that people even in Marshfield don’t know that we have, so it’s a great time to check them out,” said Gomez.
Mad Market Days will take place Saturday, July 28 from 10-4 p.m. in downtown Marshfield.
