Each Blizzard Donates $1 Locally
Every year, those craving a blizzard at Dairy Queen can do so for a great cause.
Thursday, August 2 is Miracle Treat Day, a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. On that day, buy a regular-priced blizzard of any size and one dollar will be donated to the charity to benefit CMN kids, including those at Marshfield Medical Center. All funds stay local and help fund life-saving equipment and provide direct assistance to families in northern and central Wisconsin.
The featured blizzard on Miracle Treat Day is the “Reese’s Extreme,” a mix of DQ soft serve, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s Pieces.
Marshfield Dairy Queen raised $2,600 last year, according to manager Laura Cooper. To further benefit the cause, individuals and businesses can purchase Blizzard vouchers on in lieu of purchasing the ice cream itself. The vouchers are good for one year and benefit the cause.
“You can buy as many as you want, so many customers & businesses buy in bulk to donate more to CMN,” said Cooper. “This gives more flexibility to use the vouchers when it is more convenient for each individual.”
