Chocolate Shoppe in Downtown Marshfield

Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe Comes to Marshfield

Love is in the air, along with the smell of chocolate! Rhinelander’s own Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe brings its tantalizing creations to Marshfield for a Valentine’s Day special pop-up shop. Homemade candies can be purchased from 10am-6pm Saturday, February 11 – Tuesday, February 14 at 405 S Central Avenue next to Rogers Cinema.

George Rouman’s family started the business in 1905 after immigrating to America. In 1980 a change was made and it became Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe. After experiencing much success in the north woods, branching out to other areas in the state became a goal.

Setting up a temporary home in Marshfield came easy to Rouman. “We have several connections to the city and business community in the Marshfield area, which first brought this opportunity to our attention. As we continue to expand our footprint outside of Rhinelander, we felt this was an interesting opportunity to explore for future growth. The entire community has been so welcoming and helpful during our visits. We’re very impressed with the outreach effort and support available,” he said.

Whether chocolate covered strawberries is what your sweetheart craves or if it’s more traditional candies that are desired, it’s all covered at the Sweet Shoppe. Varieties of fudge will be on hand as well as specialty popcorn, caramel apples and gelato which is an Italian Ice Cream. The popular “Paws” will also impress and are a best seller. The Paws consist of decadent caramel over pecans or cashews and topped with milk or dark chocolate.

To make even more of an impact for your valentine, the Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe’s very own Valentine Gorilla will be on duty on Monday, February 13th. All set to deliver hand-dipped chocolates with flair, the furry creature will also bring music and pose for pictures as deliveries are made.

For those that wish to purchase treats year round, ordering online is a great option.

“We’re able to customize everything from gift boxes to bags, and even create a logo out of chocolate!” Rouman said. Another part of the business is their ability to offer fundraising to schools or other groups in the community. Business owners are also welcome to reach out and inquire about employee gifts.

For now, the focus is on Valentine’s Day. Customers have a chance to win a box of chocolate-covered strawberries if they visit the groups Facebook page from February 7th – February 13th. Instructions will be given each day on what needs to be done to qualify. The Facebook page can be viewed here .

“Whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day can be celebrated by everyone…with chocolate!” said Rouman.
