Another year of the Central Wisconsin State Fair has passed, and according to Fair staff, it was a great week.
“The Fair was a huge success and so much of that is because of the gorgeous weather we had,” said Executive Director Adam Fischer. “People came out because of the great weather and we had another great year.”
Fischer is still calculating the overall attendance numbers, but does know that attendance had risen on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday compared to the past couple of years. Aside from increased attendance, Fischer also remarked that this year was an historic event.
“I am a firm believer that each Fair is unique so it is hard to compare from year to year, but I do think this year was special because of the 100th Anniversary of the Round Barn, the great weather and all the hard work that the Fair Board, Staff and countless volunteers did to make sure this year another successful year,” he said.
Feedback from Fair-goers was largely positive, according to Fischer.
“People seemed to really like the lineup this year, the attractions, food vendors and of course all of the exhibits,” he said.
Though this Fair just concluded, planning is already underway for 2017.
“We are still in the early stages of planning, but we are currently looking at the maps of the fairgrounds and dreaming about moving some things around to become even better at meeting the needs of the public,” said Fischer.
