The Central Chamber Chorale will present a potpourri of songs for the spring concerts.
In the first half of the concert, the Chorale performs several works beginning with two rousing Gilbert and Sullivan choruses: “Life Has Loveliness to Sell” by James Mullholland and “You Are the Music” by Dan Forrest feature music director, Richard Brunson, on horn with soloist Riya Bolander.
Other pieces include “Rock-a Ma Soul” with soloist, Mark T. Nelson, and “Hark! I Hear the Harps Eternal” with soloist Brittney Yadon.
The second half of the concert features “Schubert’s Mass in G” with many Chorale soloists: Valorie Brecht, Beth Walsh, Torin Bolander, Zach Iniguez, and Valerie Hoffman. The Mass, composed in 1815, is the best known of Schubert’s “shorter” mass compositions.
The performance is on Sunday, March 22nd at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1208 W. 14th St., Marshfield. There are also performances on Friday, March 20th at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids and Saturday, March 21st at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 215 S. Washington Ave. in Medford.
The concerts are free and open to the public. The concert is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the arts.
