Celebrate Star Wars Day in Marshfield this May 4

The Sports Den

May the Fourth Be with You! Celebrate the Star Wars universe this May 4th (“fourth”) in Marshfield.

It’s time again for The Sports Den’s second annual Poker Ride, a Star-Wars themed event  which is also a fundraiser for the Marshfield Mountain Bike Club. The event, which is open to all ages, allows bikers to ride around Marshfield and surrounding areas collecting playing cards from participating businesses, and the rider with the best poker hand wins a prize!

The goal of the event is to eventually raise enough money to be able to give bikes to children in low-income households that can be used for race season. Along with riding, there will be a concession stand from 11am-3pm, featuring a Hoth-dog basket with your choice of Princess Lays or Boba-que chips, and drinks which include Yoda-Soda, Vader-ade and Luke Sky-water, with proceeds also going to the Marshfield Mountain Bike Club.

If you are interested in participating, you can stop by The Sports Den or go
to Explore Marshfield’s website at this link to register. Pre-registration, which is open until April 30th, is $10/person, and $15/person the day of registration. The event will be on May 4th, from 10am-3pm. Helmets are required for all participants. Be sure to follow the event at The Sports Den’s Facebook page.

Along with The Sports Den celebrating May the Fourth Be with You, the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library is also hosting an event. This event will be held on Saturday, May 4th starting at 10:30am until 11:30am in the JP Adler Room. There will be Star Wars crafts, activities and snacks for the whole family. Dress in costume if you’d like.
