Dine Outdoors at Brew Pub
Now that the weather is finally getting nicer, (by the way, thanks Wisconsin…that took long enough) I like to find ways to inject a little outdoors into my life.I mean, I am definitely not outdoorsy, so I only need little bits of mother nature…a lunch hour of it is the perfect fit for me. I love to cut out of the office for my noon hour, meet up with a friend and have a nice lunch out on the patio.
Unfortunately, there aren’t too many places in Marshfield to eat al fresco. But, the Blue Heron Brewpub is one of them. And I just happened to go there today when they were opening the outdoor patio for the season!
I’d call it double luck! One of the first really nice days, I happen to go to one of the few places in town with a patio. (And it really was luck, because I had forgotten that they had the patio set up in the nicer months).
So, today I got to enjoy the special salad, which was a yummy pesto chicken salad, while sitting on the patio…a little breeze going through my hair, a chirp of a bird here and there and the hum of Central Avenue in the background.
I would definitely call that a successful lunch! Oh and I was naughty and had half of a triple chocolate mouse cake for dessert. (Which was totally worth the calories.) Now I am going to go back indoors and do some “adult” work to pay bills. But, it was nice while it lasted.
Now I just have to keep it in mind for the next time I need a refreshing lunch outdoors!
