Maple Fall Fest at Wildwood Park & Zoo, Sep. 16 & 17
Kickoff sweater weather season with family fun at Maple Fall Fest at Wildwood Park & Zoo in Marshfield, WI, on September 16 and 17, 2023. The event begins at 9 am on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday, with festivities running until 5 pm and 4 pm, respectively. ]]>The MAKC Annual All-Breed Dog Show is two days of fun and learning for the whole family! There will be over one hundred different breeds in attendance at the Marshfield Area Kennel Club Annual Dog Show!
This waterpark is number one when it comes to cooling off right in Marshfield. The facility boasts a variety of amenities for your enjoyment, such as three water slides, two diving boards, a climbing wall, basketball hoops, a current channel, a game area, a spacious grass area, lounge chairs, shade structures, a full concession stand, private and family changing stalls, and a shelter. They are open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily (patrons must exit the water from 3:00-3:30 for an employee break)

If you’re looking for a free and easy way to cool off, grab a towel and head to the fountains and Wenzel Family Plaza. They’re turned on daily during the Summer from 11:00 am-7:00 pm! This spot is especially fun for small children. Wenzel Family Plaza offers a bit of shade and picnic tables if you want to pack a lunch or snack.
Lake Dexter located in Pittsville, WI is just a short 30-minute drive from downtown Marshfield. You’ll find a sandy sunny beach with a nice swimming area, plenty of picnic tables, and several shady spots tucked back under mature trees. There is no fee for entry.
This is another great spot for a family with small children to enjoy and is only about 15 minutes from Marshfield in Arpin. The small swimming area has a sandy beach and the rest of the park has some beautiful scenery to explore that you won’t want to miss out on. There is no fee for entry.
Lake Wazeechas Red Sand Beach is located in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and is just less than an hour’s drive from downtown Marshfield. This sandy beach, part of South Wood County Park is huge and offers a swimming area, picnic tables, a playground, shelters, bathrooms, and more. Plan to spend an entire afternoon here, there’s a lot to see and do in the area.
